As Principal Liquidator, I completed at the end of 2006 the successful wind-up of Confederation Life Insurance Company (U.S.) – reputedly the largest life insurance insolvency in North American history – in which the insurance estate achieved the unprecedented result of returning 100% of value to policyholders and creditors and returning over $300 million in surplus funds for the Canadian estate.

I continue to serve as insurance advisor, consultant, or expert witness in a number of U.S. and international tax disputes or proceedings, insurer insolvencies, consumer v. insurer class actions, and regulation of insurer corporate conduct and financial condition.
